Everything Ivy does
Ivy does a lot. This page lists all of it, grouped by the job it does for you. Every item is in the app today.
Know your plants
- Identify from a photo.
- One photo gives you species candidates with how sure Ivy is. Pick one or type your own.
- Add in bulk.
- Photograph a shelf's worth of plants. For each one Ivy identifies the species, estimates pot size, drainage, soil type and health, and proposes a care schedule. Expand to adjust, then save them all.
- Import from CSV.
- Upload a spreadsheet, map the columns, review, import.
- A nickname and a profile.
- Species, room, pot, soil, light, water needs, tags, and a nickname Ivy can suggest.
- Species notes.
- Ivy writes a care profile per species (watering range, light, humidity, common trouble) and keeps it for every plant of that kind.
Care, scheduled by reasoning
- A starting interval from the species.
- Then adjusted for your pot and drainage, your soil, your room's light and temperature, and the season. The result stays inside the species' range.
- Weather every morning.
- Local forecast from Open-Meteo for your location. Balcony plants skip after rain and come forward in heat; indoor plants ignore the rain.
- Learning from you.
- When you water on time, the gaps you keep become the schedule. Late waterings are ignored on purpose: they say when you remembered, not what the plant needed.
- Suggestions with reasons.
- Ivy never changes an interval silently. It proposes, shows why, and you accept, dismiss, or say never for that plant.
- Hydro, too.
- Refill, flush, top up, replace water, clean the vessel, add nutrients.
The daily list
- Today, in one list.
- Water, fertilize, mist, rotate, prune, repot and the hydro tasks, with what is overdue first.
- Done, snooze or skip.
- Snooze to tomorrow or any date. Skip moves the task along without counting.
- Fertilizing counts as watering.
- Because liquid feed is water. Ivy logs both.
- Next action per plant.
- On a plant's page, the one thing it needs next with a "do it now" button.
- Calendar sync.
- Subscribe in Apple or Google Calendar; each day's tasks show up as an event at the time you choose.
Ask Ivy
- A conversation that knows your collection.
- Every plant, every room, your water profile, and what you tried last time.
- Text, voice or photo.
- Dictate on the way out of the door. Send a photo of the leaf.
- Bulk actions in plain language.
- "Mark everything in the hall as watered", "move the shelf to the bedroom", "water the balcony less often". Ivy shows the exact plants in a preview; you confirm.
- Threads.
- One per plant for the long conversations, and a general one for the whole collection.
Keep them healthy
- Scan a room.
- Photograph plants in a batch. Ivy reports what it sees on each one and offers the next step: prune, fertilize, repot. Accept, and it goes on today's list.
- Diagnose one plant.
- A photo plus its history: when it was last watered, repotted, moved.
- Repot assistant.
- When a plant is due for a bigger pot, Ivy works out the soil mix from your inventory (perlite, potting mix, coco coir and the rest) and the pot size to move to, and tells you how.
- Inventory.
- Your soils, amendments and fertilizers, recognized from a photo of the bag.
- Water profile.
- Tap, filtered, rain; hard or soft. Ivy uses it in answers and schedules.
Away from home
- Travel mode.
- Enter your dates. Ivy prepares a plan per plant, flags the ones that need real attention, and suggests self-watering setups where they help.
- Caretaker link.
- One link for the person who drops by. No account, no app: they open it, see the plan, tick what they did, and Ivy logs it for you.
Out in the world
- Hunt.
- Snap what you spot on a walk. Ivy identifies it, keeps the location, and adds it to a discovery log. Share a hunt report.
- Radar.
- Species worth looking for next, based on what you already keep.
