Ivy FAQ
Ten questions, answered.
-
Is there an app in the App Store?
Not yet. Ivy is a web app you add to your home screen, and it behaves like an app from there: full screen, an icon, fast. iPhone: open ivygrows.com in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Android: open it in Chrome and choose Install app.
-
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in any modern browser, and on desktop at the same address.
-
Is it free?
Yes, while in beta. There will be a paid Collector plan later; the free plan stays and plants are never capped. See Pricing.
-
How does identification work?
You photograph the plant. AI vision models return species candidates with how sure they are; specialist identification services are used where available. You pick, or type your own.
-
What does Ivy know about my home?
What you tell it: rooms with their orientation, window size and light; your water profile; your approximate location for the weather; your indoor temperature if you set it.
-
Which services see my photos and questions?
Google's Gemini models answer questions, read photos and run scans. PlantNet and Plant.id may be used for identification. Open-Meteo receives only your approximate coordinates. The full list is in the privacy policy.
-
Where is my data stored?
On our own servers in the European Union, with daily backups. Photos are stored in your account only.
-
Can I import from another app?
Export a CSV from it and import it in Ivy. Column mapping handles different layouts.
-
Which languages?
The app is in English. Ivy understands plant and room names in Bulgarian as well.
-
How do I delete my account?
Write to hello@ivygrows.com and everything, photos included, is removed within thirty days. In-app deletion is on the way.
